Singapore Welcomes Sustainable City Living

Sustainable cities seem like the stuff of the future, but on Beach Road in Singapore the future might not be so far away thanks to the work of UK based architecture + planning firm Foster + Partners.

The firm has won an international competition to design a highly sustainable mixed used scheme for an entire city block (a nice start for a major urban center). The firm plans to incorporate commercial, retail, and residential with two high end hotels and transportation via an MRT station. The site will occupy some 150,000 square meters of downtown Singapore-helping the city in living their ideal of "a city in a garden."
