Bono and Artist Damian Hirst Inspire Sotheby's Auction House to Support HIV-AIDS Relief

Bono makes the news again with his charitable efforts for Africa, this time merging his talents and fame, with that of the art world.

This Valentines Day world renowned auction house Sotheby's will host a charity auction the proceeds of which will go to benefit HIV-AID relief programs in Africa. The event was organized by U2's Bono and internationally famed artist Damien Hirst. The contributing artists involved with the event are a who's who of the art world, including; Hirst, Jeff Koons, Jasper Johns, Matthew Barney, Georg Baselitz, Cecily Brown and Douglas Gordon.

The event is set for February 14, 2008, with exhibits scheduled for February 4-13th. The effort is estimated to bring more than $40million dollars toward the relief programs.
