BMW Grabs Top Sustainability Awards at World Economic Forum

SAM, the leading Swiss based asset management company for sustainability investments (company responsible for launching the Dow Jones Sustainability Index), just awarded three sustainability awards to BMW. The award came as part of the 2008 Sustainability Yearbook that the SAM Group presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The awards to BMW were in the categories of Sector Leader, Gold Class and Sector Mover. This means that the BMW Group is the leading company for sustainability in the automibile industry (SAM Sector Leader), and achieved over 75% of possible points in rating (SAM Gold Class) and has made the greatest progress in the industry within the last 12 months (SAM Sector Mover). SAM rates 57 industry sectors and the top 1000 companies within those sectors - assessing each organization for their sustainability criteria.
