Paul McCartney, Eddie Vedder, Moby & Others Join David Lynch in Support of Transcendental Meditation

--fashion + travel + music--

Music superstar Sir Paul McCartney and Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder are on board to appear at a star studded transcendental meditation (TM) event on Saturday April 4, 2009. The event is set to take place at Radio City Music Hall and will benefit the David Lynch Foundation, which supports the Transcendental Meditation Movement.

Famed filmed director David Lynch has been devoting his life to "spreading the gospel" of TM, from giving lectures worldwide to starting foundations and even school programs educating kids on the healing power of meditation. On his website the director states;

"I have been 'diving within' through the transcendental meditation technique for over 30 years. It has changed my life, my world. I am not alone."

The April 4th event will additional feature music stars such as Sheryl Crow, Moby and Scottish songwriter Donovan.

Readers might be interested to know about the benefits of Transcendental Meditation, which include normalization in blood pressure, decreased anxiety, increased brain coherence, increased intelligence, increased self-actualization, and more. My children went to a school where TM was part of the curriculum, and they absolutely blossomed there. TM was the best investment in their future. My husband and I recommend http://www.tmeducation.org/ for details.

I have always wondered if Paul McCartney was still a fan of Transcendental Meditation.
He must be, if he is doing this big public event! I agree with him. As a naturopathic doctor, I wish all my patients would practice TM. It is such a useful technique for reducing stress and many of the ailments that accompany stress. Plus, it is empowering for the individual, because all you need is yourself. If you can lower your blood pressure, reduce anxiety and improve insomnia with meditation, then you don't need drugs, surgery or hospitals.

It’s great that big name artists are supporting the David Lynch Foundation’s efforts to teach 1 million children TM. I’ve been practicing TM for a while now, and it has transformed my life. I feel happy and capable of fulfilling my desires; whereas previously I didn’t. And I’m not alone in these results. The DLF was created because so many people worldwide have benefitted from TM. See Transcendental Meditation & Classroom Stress This concert will help a million young people to receive these advantages in their own lives.

I am thrilled to hear about this concert, to have the greatest music legends support the David Lynch Foundation is just great. I owe a great deal to the Foundation; my son is one of the children that learned Transcendental Meditation thanks to the Foundations’ support. Seeing him grow in creativity, happiness, and emotional stability thanks to this simple technique has given me a lot of hope for the future of his generation. Every child has a right to grow up unfolding his or her real potential and I hope to see the TM technique practiced in every school. This will be a great show. The new documentary, SCHOOL OF THOUGHT, will show you why these music superstars are doing this benefit concert at Radio City. The film is about Transcendental Meditation in schools and what the David Lynch Foundation is doing to bring meditation to students everywhere.
